DataCleanse "How-to"

1. Register an account


Registering an account on Qbase DataCleanse is free and only takes a few minutes. All you need to do is click the "Need an account" button on the right hand side of the page. You will need to fill out the registration form, after which you will be sent a confirmation email. This email contains a link which you need to click in order to activate your account.

If you cannot click the link within the email, you can visit http://qbase.net/datacleanse/confirm.aspx and enter your email address and the confirmation key which is contained in your email.

After confirming your account, your new password will be emailed to you usually within a few minutes. - If you havent received your confirmation key within 6 hours, please contact us so we can manually activate your account

2. Log in to your dashboard


Once you have an account, you will need to log in to your account. To do this, click the "upload your data" button on the right hand side of the page.

This will slide out the login form, into which you will need to enter your Username and Password. Your username is the one you chose when you signed up, and your password would of been emailed to you once you confirmed your account.

If you have forgotten your password you will need to request a new one. To do this, click "I forgot my password". You will then need to enter your username and the email address you used to register with DataCleanse.

If you cannot remember your username, you can request a reminder of this by clicking the "I forgot my username" link on the password recovery page.

3. Uploading your data


We’ve made the data upload process as simple as possible. Once you’re logged in, click “New Job” on the menu bar at the top of the screen.

You now need to click “Browse” to find the file you want to be cleaned. After selecting this file, give the job an easily recognisable name. This can be anything and is just to help you find your job once it’s created.

You will now be sent to the “Service Selection” screen, where you will be presented with a grid of services that we can run on your data. You can refer to our Pricing Guide to see the costs of each service.

Services are selected by simply clicking the checkbox next to each service. When you have selected all the services you require, just click “Next Step”.

Please note: Appends -> Geocoding requires an additional file to be uploaded containing your geocoding information. This will be taken care of on the next step.

Please also note, that Mailsort and Walksort will require a follow-up telephone call before we can proceed.

You will now be offered the chance to upload any supporting documents, or add any notes to the job for the attention of our data processing team. If you have chosen Geo-Append services, you will also be given an additional form field for which you must upload your geo-information file.

Supporting Documents/Notes are not required, but it may be useful to attach them. When you have completed this section, click “Final Step”. The final step of the process is for you to review your job information. You can see the files you have uploaded, any notes you have added, and finally the services you have chosen.

To complete the process, just click “Confirm job” – You will now be taken back to your control panel home page where you can see your job listed with the status “New Job”. You can come back to this dashboard at any time by clicking the “Home Page” link at the top of the screen.
