Data Quality Rules create data governance for your migration and give you a set of rules to manage any future data additions
If you have performed a landscape analysis, or if you have headed straight into a migration, you will be faced with a number of questions, issues, rules, tolerances, transformations and quality checks concerning you data that will need to be resolved if you are to perform a successful migration.
Our specialists document all these areas, analyse each one and identify recommended outcomes through the creation of a set of Data Quality Rules (DQRs). Data Quality Rules create data governance for your migration and give you a set of rules to manage any future data additions.
We use a three pronged approach to Data Quality Rules:
Data Quality Rules Process
The Data Quality Rules Process is a workflow that allows a question, issue or rule to be raised and provides an end-to-end mechanism for resolution. The process allows data issues to be raised and tracked through to completion, with an appropriate level of escalation where required.
Data Quality Rules Board
The Data Quality Rules Board is a group of people who have the responsibility to make informed decisions on more complex Data Quality Rules. The board consists of permanent members who are usually a combination of people from your internal project team and Qbase plus, on occasion, subject matter experts who are called in when Data Quality Rules are in their area of expertise.
Data Quality Rules Database
The Data Quality Rules Database is a tool that facilitates the process. It allows Data Quality Rules to be identified, categorised, investigated, assessed and escalated. In effect, it is very similar to a support ticket process employed by most IT and IS departments. We have a free Data Quality Rules Database that we can deploy on your migration.
