The Role

Qbase has a position for a Scrum Master to join the organisation as a Technical Project Manager to specialise in data management and analytics projects. We are seeking a self-motivated, organised individual who displays an eye for detail and who can become the point of liaison between the Qbase Development and Analytics teams and our clients.

The Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master is primarily responsible for managing the development sprints from business analysis, through planning and work delivery. The role will include running daily scrums, managing the product backlog, collaborating on requirement documentation, managing support tickets and unblocking barriers to keep the team moving. You will be responsible for project communication and collaborate primarily with the technical solutions, data engineering and customer analytics teams.

Our ideal candidate will have successfully set up Scrum in a previous role. We already use scrum informally in pockets of the business. But we wish to make this our standard practice going forward and you will be responsible for the programme that enables this objective.

This is a client-facing role so you must be a confident communicator who is comfortable proposing and presenting plans to board level. Having a technical understanding of data will give you a significant advantage as we don’t just want someone to manage backlogs, produce reports and schedule sprints. Instead, we seek someone prepared to learn about the work we do so you can provide advice and guidance to customers, almost as a low-level product owner.

You will also be required to travel to client sites from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of project management practices and procedures for the whole organisation.
  • Planning, scheduling, coordination, and management of all aspects of client projects.
  • Development of, or contribution to, project documentation such as the Statement of Work, Specifications, Product Backlogs and Sprint Plans.
  • Coordinate estimation of user stories and management of product backlog.
  • Client communication management including organising, chairing, and documenting stand-ups and steering groups.
  • Maintenance of project documentation, schedules and plans in a variety of tools including but not limited to Jira, Zoho Sprints, Microsoft DevOps.
  • Management of project blockers.
  • Production, distribution and presentation of project reporting and updates (including Dashboards, Kanban boards and Burn Down Charts.)
  • Client liaison including working with other Project Managers at those clients and their other delivery partners.
  • Liaison and coordination with internal Qbase team members including Commercial, Operations, Developers, Engineers, Data Scientists and Analysts.
  • Control, coordination, investigation, and response to project change requests.
  • Management and resolution planning of non-conformities.
  • Running planning workshops with clients and Qbase personnel.
  • Act as a first-line product owner prepared to contribute to BA activities and backlog definition.

Person Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years in a Scrum based Project Management Role.
  • Candidate must be able to evidence successful deployment of Scrum in a previous role.
  • Professional Scrum Master Level 2 certification.
  • Excellent communicator measurable by the quality of your CV, interview, and final presentation.
  • High standard of IT skills and evidence of configuring collaborative project management tools.
  • Have exceptional organisational skills.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

Desirable

  • Professional Scrum Master Level 3 certification.
  • Technical project management experience, preferably in data, databases, Business Intelligence or analytics.
  • Business Analyst skills, particularly for requirements gathering and story estimation.

Location

Warrington (Will consider UK applicants who can commit to 1 day per week in Warrington at their own expense).
